President Donald Trump said Monday allegations against Brett Kavanaugh are “totally political” as he stood by his Supreme Court nominee ahead of a planned hearing.
‘WITH HIM ALL THE WAY’
Between meetings at the United Nations in New York, Trump criticized the allegations against Kavanaugh and said, “I am with him all the way.” On Sunday, the New Yorker published a piece in which Kavanaugh’s former Yale classmate Deborah Ramirez alleged the judge exposed himself to her at a party while they were in college. Kavanaugh called the story a “smear, plain and simple.”

The report followed earlier sexual-assault allegations against Kavanaugh by Christine Blasey Ford, who has agreed to appear before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday. Kavanaugh denies her allegations.
SECOND KIM SUMMIT ‘QUITE SOON’
Trump said a second summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un is likely to take place “quite soon,” telling reporters Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is working on details.
While at the UN, Trump will meet one-on-one with leaders including South Korean President Moon Jae In and French President Emmanuel Macron.
