The wait is over.
More than five years since his last win, Tiger Woods tasted victory on the PGA Tour again, winning the Tour Championship on Sunday with a 1-over 71 to finish 11-under, two strokes ahead of Billy Horschel.
Woods led or was tied for the lead after every round and entered Sunday with a three-stroke lead over Justin Rose and Rory McIlroy, who both fell off as the round progressed.
Horschel shot 4-under Sunday to get into contention, but Woods never fell out of the lead.
Woods created some tense moments down the stretch with back-to-back bogeys on Nos. 15 and 16, but a par save on No. 17 sent him to the final hole, a par-5, with a two-shot lead.
Horschel finished second at 9-under, and Dustin Johnson finished alone in third at 7-under.
