Elon Musk has given a sneak peek of his Boring Co.’s “disturbingly long” new tunnel under Los Angeles.
In a tweet early Saturday morning, Musk said he “Walked full length of Boring Co tunnel under LA tonight. Disturbingly long. On track for opening party Dec 10,” and posted video of the tunnel.

The first section of the test tunnel, which runs two miles starting from the company’s headquarters in Hawthorne, Calif., will be unveiled next month at an invitation-only event, and will be used for research and development of Musk’s proposed Loop and Hyperloop transportation systems. Musk hopes to build a series of tunnels across Los Angeles — including a Dodger Stadium shuttle — to beat the region’s notoriously hellish traffic.
Musk is also the chief executive of Tesla Inc. TSLA, +0.62% and SpaceX.
The Boring Co. has said the tunnel will use “autonomous electric skates” to transport eight to 16 people at speeds up to 150 mph.
The company also has proposals to build an express transit line in Chicago and a high-speed commuter line from New York to Washington.
