There’s been buzz among MarketWatch readers about some technology stocks hitting new 52-week lows. We looked at the S&P Composite 1500 Index to identify them and noticed they are all in bear markets (down at least 20%) from their 52-week highs.
New lows
The S&P 1500 Composite Index is made up of the S&P 500 Index SPX, -0.89% the S&P Mid-Cap 400 Index MID, -1.33% and the S&P 400 Small-Cap Index SML, -1.06% The Composite Index has 210 companies in its information-technology sector. However, we included another 17 popular tech companies that are in other sectors, including video-game developers, FAANG stocks, social-media companies and eBay EBAY, -1.61%
We compared intraday prices on Tuesday at about 11:30 a.m. ET to 52-week lows through Oct. 22. So these are technically 16 stocks that set new “52-weeks plus a day” lows on Tuesday:
