Former Rep. Beto O’Rourke, a possible Democratic presidential contender, will headline a rally on Monday in El Paso at the same time that President Donald Trump is set to hold a rally there.
As the Washington Post reports, O’Rourke announced late Friday he would join residents in the Texas city in a “peaceful march.” The Post said the former Texas congressman avoided calling out Trump by name, but it was obvious the protest was intended to coincide with Trump’s Make America Great Again rally in El Paso on the same night. In his State of the Union address last week, Trump touted El Paso as proof that border walls result in lower crime rates. Data indicates this is false, the Post says.

Republican super PAC invokes Ocasio-Cortez: Roll Call reports a Republican super PAC is wasting no time tying vulnerable House Democrats to New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as it launches digital ads in two districts Monday.
Congressional Leadership Fund, a group aligned with House Republican leadership, is targeting two freshman lawmakers, Antonio Delgado of New York and Colin Allred of Texas, in the new ads shared first with Roll Call. Neither Delgado nor Allred have signed on as co-sponsors of the Green New Deal resolution introduced by Ocasio-Cortez and Sen. Ed Markey, but CLF is tying them to the resolution anyway, says Roll Call.

Omar ignites new anti-Semitism controversy: Freshman Minnesota Democrat Ilhan Omar ignited a new controversy on Sunday night when she suggested Republican support for Israel is driven by campaign donations from a prominent pro-Israel group, Politico reports. Omar singled out the American-Israel Public Affairs Committee, one of the most influential lobbying groups in Washington, as the source of those donations.
Omar had retweeted journalist Glenn Greenwald responding to a story about House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy promising “action” toward the Minnesota lawmaker and Rep. Rashida Tlaib of Michigan. Omar captioned that retweet with a message: “It’s all about the Benjamins baby,” referring to money.
